FAQ

Targets

  • Overview
Each Target is loaded with one of the three main types of Resources (Gold, Lumber, and Rum), Rubies, or Gears. There are three types of Targets: large, medium and small. The amount of Resources recovered from the Target per hour and the total amount of the haul depends on its size. The larger the Target, the more Resources it can collect per hour, and the greater its total worth. When all the booty at a Target has been collected (or its time limit expires) it will sink below the waves, never to be seen again. The remaining time till a Target sinks is displayed on the pop-up Map menu and at your Command buildings (Pirate Stronghold and Lighthouse). Every new Target starts off vacant and unguarded, so be the first to find the new ones! Any player can view the amount of Resources stored in the Target by placing their magic compass over it.
  • Target Menu on Map
Place your cursor over a Target on the Map to view its info. You will be able to view the amount of Resources remaining at a Target, its status (whether the Target is vacant or captured), and choose from a set of possible actions.
  • Scouting
To scout a Target, build Whitmore & Co. and the Dutchman's Hangar, select the number of Flying Dutchmen you want to send for the mission and click "Send". Successful Scouting missions allow you to detect all Units defending a Target - including its owner's Units and other players' Reinforcements. Commission and station as many Flying Dutchmen as you can to protect your Target from being scouted.
  • Capture
Building Whitmore & Co. allows you to capture 1 Target. Select the "Targets" tab, then choose type and number of Units you want to send on this mission and click "Send". If you succeed, your force will capture the Target and you'll be able to view its info under the "Targets" tab at the Pirate Stronghold. Once you've captured the Target, it starts collecting Resources.

You can claim Resources from Targets once an hour. If you don't collect Resources for more than 12 hours, they cease being collected.

If a Target is captured, a player doesn't get any of its previous owner's collected or claimed Resources. The Target starts producing Resources again, but the total amount of Resources in the Target continues to deplete regardless of how many times it changes hands. Be sure to maintain a large garrison of Defensive Units at your captured Targets to keep them under your control.

You can also Scout and attack your Shipmates' Targets, but do so at your own risk. Sometimes short-term profit isn't worth losing a valuable Accord over. If your Target is captured by an Enemy force, all surviving defenders and Reinforcements will return to their respective owners.
  • Reinforcements
To send and receive Reinforcements, you need to discover Order of Battle and build the Pirate Stronghold.

Select the amount and types of Units you want to send, and then dispatch them as Reinforcements to your or your Shipmates' Targets.

Sending Reinforcements to other Targets does not allow you to collect Resources from those Targets, but if you help your Friends control their Targets they might return the favor or pay you a percentage for protection.

If you recall all of your Units from one of your Targets, all Reinforcements belonging to other players will automatically be returned to their respective Havens. If all your Units at a Target are destroyed, all surviving Reinforcements automatically return to their owners.

To control your Reinforcements in other Targets, go to the Pirate Stronghold, open the "Garrisons" tab and choose the "Targets" filter.

Your Merchant will send you the information about Resource deliveries.
  • Whitmore & Co.
You must build Whitmore & Co. before you can capture Targets on the Map. Once you've upgraded Whitmore & Co. to level 6, you'll be able to control 2 Targets.

    To build Whitmore & Co.:
    1. Go to your Haven.
    2. Click «Construction».
    3. Open the «Command» tab and select Whitmore & Co.
    4. Choose an area in your Haven and begin construction.
  • Lighthouse
You need the Lighthouse in order to detect new Targets around your Haven. The Lighthouse gives you info about:

    - new and vacant Targets around your Haven
    - Resources in a given Target
    - Targets currently Captured.

Upgrade your Lighthouse to increase its range and to detect more Targets. To build a Lighthouse:

    1. Go to your Haven.
    2. Click «Construction».
    3. Open the «Command» tab and select the Lighthouse.
    4. Choose an area in your Haven and begin construction.
  • Pirate Stronghold
Once you've captured a Target on the Map, go to your Pirate Stronghold and open the «Targets» tab.

    It provides info about:
    - The total amount of Resources to be found at the Target
    - Time remaining till Target depletion
    - The Target's storage capacity
    - The number of Resources you can claim immediately
    - Time remaining till you can claim more Resources
    - Time remaining until the Target's storage is full
    - Type and number of Units currently Garrisoned
    - Type and number of friendly Reinforcements.

A Target begins collecting Resources the second it's captured, and you can claim the collected Resources after one hour. After that, the 1 hour countdown resets each time you claim Resources. After 12 hours, a Target's storage will be full and it will stop collecting additional resources.

To claim all Resources accumulated in a Target, press «Claim» (only if the button is active!). It will take time for the claimed Resources to be shipped to your Haven, especially if the Target is far away.

Your Merchant will send you a delivery report when it arrived. Click the green arrow to see all your Units at the Target, including friendly Reinforcements. You can send Reinforcements to your Target or return friendly forces back to their Havens from the interface. To control Reinforcements you've sent to friendly Targets, open the «Garrisons» tab and choose the «Targets» filter. You'll be able to see all Reinforcements you've sent to your friends and Shipmates.
